  1. Wow! The more I read about Costa Rica the more I want to go, it’s incredibly beautiful and I love its wild animal life too.

  7. Comment@ Nancy:
Try the spa treatments when you are on the islands next ;)

  8. Haha well, I flew with the Emirates I think only twice so can’t generalize … unfortunately for me, it always takes ages to get home/from home :D

  9. Generally I do not read article on blogs, bbut I wish to say
that this write-up very pressured me to try and do it! Your writing
style has been amazed me. Thank you, quite great article.

  10. Happy to be of any help, enjoy the city, it’s pretty over there ;)

  11. Am going there by the end of this month..your toilet tip is really helpful as such things are never told in a guide book or any of the sights..

  12. I used to love Emirates, but the last few flights I took with them were delayed and the attendants were rude. One attendant literally just yelled at passengers, “just put your bags up!” (we weren’t anywhere close to being late taking off) and was sour-faced the entire flight. Then Dubai Airport is a nightmare. It took 40 minutes just to get to the terminal after landing (no joke), the ‘free WiFi’ didn’t work, and yes, the PLUGS. Agh.

Aaaaanyway, 54 hours in transit sounds crazy!!! I’m not sure what the longest I’ve done is, but it can’t be more than half of that. Possibly around 24 hours actually, to get from Leeds to Taipei – stopovers in London and Kuala Lumpur.

  13. thanks for sharing helpful information :)

  14. Nice blog. I’m regular reader of your blogs. Awesome articles you have been writting here. I really liked it and know the new places from your blog I couldn’t go there otherwise.

    Thanks for sharing :)

  15. Hi Alex, love your post.
I also compare everything about Thailand and the Philippines on my site http://aroundtheworldinaday.com/philippines_thailand_comparison/
The differences in costs, food, weather, culture and internet speed are huge! Check it out and let me know what you think about it. All the best, Carina

  16. I like how HKG is open 24/7. You can always find stuff to do/eat/see. At about 0330 in the morning you will find a lot of people walking everywhere.

I LUV shopping in the street markets…I only buy the cheaper non-breakable stuff…like no electronics as qualify is shaky. I love getting massages, so HKG is nice for that…but not as good as Shanghai.

Kowloon, where I usually stay, is the most crowded place on the planet. Sometimes It even shocks me, even though I have been there a bunch of times.

  17. I am crying now….

    God Bless and namaste

  18. Comment@ Crazy Sexy Fun Traveler:
I am looking for a new wife:
    Required:
    1-Attractive enough (to me)
    2-Loves me
3-Wants to spend time with me
4-Able to be OK when I am gone (I am gone 1/2 the time)
    5-Interesting
    6-Speaks English
    7-Not a Capricorn
    That is it…7 things.
There is more stuff that would make it easier for us to bond, by they are not required.

Someone like me could be your boyfriend. I travel worldwide for work. So, when I was off work, I could fly to where you are, stay with you until I go back to work, then fly back to work, rinse, repeat. My job situation is VERY unusual. We have people I work with living all over the world, often married to women from a different country other than our home country (and we have people from various countries that I work with).

I currently live in the US, but am thinking about moving, probably to HKG, Maylasia, Indonesia or Sri Lanka.
