Add a day to your holiday
Everybody loves a holiday, so why not makes yours a bit longer? “What?” I hear you cry, “You think I should book eight days away rather than seven? Or fifteen rather fourteen?” Well neither actually. My idea is much simpler and much less expensive (besides, booking a holiday that wasn’t in multiples of seven would be crazy.) No, when I say add a day to your holiday I mean do something as easy as booking a Gatwick hotel and parking, or one of the Stansted airport hotels, or whatever airport hotel you’re flying from for that matter. Believe me, it will make your holiday amazing.
Airport hotels are a great way to start your holiday off a little early. Rather than spend the night before your holiday worrying about getting to the airport on time, you can have swim in the hotel pool before settling in to a three-course meal. I know which I would prefer. The great thing is that you really can get good deals on bookings so if you’re flying from Manchester, for example, you’ll find lots of brilliant discount Manchester airport hotels available that’ll give you just what you want.
For not very much you can enjoy all the holiday luxury of a hotel stay a night earlier than you expected and, in doing so, sidestep much of the departure day hassle. You can wake up later on the day because you’ve only got a ten-minute transfer to the check-in desk and you’ll be rested after a great night’s sleep and relaxed knowing that nothing can go wrong.
What’s more if you check in to one of the Dublin airport hotels, or in fact any one of them from around the country, the surrounding area offers you a chance to explore a lovely city before your holiday even begins. Some hotels are near theme parks or castles, others near historic cities, and if you’re in Dublin there’s plenty to see and do, not least enjoy a pint of Guinness. The day before your holiday now becomes a part of your holiday which can be great fun and it won’t cost you much at all.
Give it a go, I bet you like it.
