The world’s top romantic holiday destinations

Going on holiday with your ideal other half is great fun, especially because you can spend time together somewhere different with no interruptions. Choosing where to go is a little more difficult though, but I’ve managed to pick five great romantic holiday destinations for a vay-cay with the one you love.

Paris

When conjuring up images of romantic venues, it’s hard to find anywhere better than Paris! There’s so many places to visit (Eiffel Tower, Champs-Elysees, Arc de Triomphe), great boutiques and restaurants where you can enjoy a romantic meal together, plus there’s all the swanky hotels where you can spend the night in each other’s arms.

Venice

Romantic for different reasons, when you’re in this beautiful Italian city, you could go for a ride on a gondola together along the canals and sample some great local cuisine once you’ve finished exploring. As well as that, there are even some great architectural landmarks in Venice that are just begging to be captured in a photograph and, of course, stunning views wherever you go.

Maldives

If your idea of a perfect romantic holiday destination is sun-kissed, beautiful and peaceful, then where better to spend a week or two than these islands in the Indian Ocean? The Maldives has so much to offer in terms of luxury, comfort, tranquility and great sights, plus no matter what time of year you visit, you can spend a little time on the beach together soaking up the sun.

Rio de Janeiro

The Brazilian city is perfect for any couple who love to spend time on the beach. The golden sands of the Copa Cabana beach may be popular with tourists all year round, but there’s always a space for you to spend a little time together watching the ocean waves and topping up your tan, while Rio itself has plenty of visitor attractions, and there’s always Carnival!

Oahu, Hawaii

Hawaii’s third largest island is an incredibly romantic place. Far removed from hectic Honolulu and the rest of the US, it’s great for any couple who wants to just spend all day on the beach, plus the luxury hotels here are to die for!
