Alhambra Palace Tours and Loro Park
Alhambra Palace Tours
The Alhambra sits on a hill overlooking the old Moorish city of Granada. This beautiful collection of buildings and gardens were built by the Berber rulers during the course of the 14th century. Broadly, the Alhambra is made up of three parts: The Royal Palace, the gardens of the Generalife and the Fortress of Alcazaba.
It is probably the most perfect example of Moorish art and is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one Spain’s biggest attractions.
The Alhambra Palace Tours can be done in several ways. You can go in and wander around on your own but it would mean getting there early and a lengthy wait at the entry booking office to get in. It is a large sprawling complex and you might miss out if you don’t know what you are about. This is especially true of access to the Nasrid Palaces.
Another option is to join an Alhambra Palace guided tour group. This ensures you get to tour the whole complex in an organised way, seeing everything, with a running commentary on the history of each section and feature. The third option is to book a private Alhambra Palace Tour just for yourself and family.
All tours can be booked, in advance, online. Doing so could get you discounts and hotel pickups.
Prices for a group tour are €49, which includes transportation, entrance fee and an expert Official Guide.
Loro Park
The now world famous Loro (parrot) Park is situated just outside the town of Puerto de la Cruz on Tenerife Island off the North West coast of Africa and a part of the Spanish Canary Islands.
The Park opened in 1972 on 3 acres of land housing 150 parrots. Today it sprawls over 33 acres and boasts of more than 7,500 animals representing over 300 species. More famously (thus its name) Loro Park is home to the most diverse collection of parrots in the world.
It also has the world’s largest dolphin show pool and penguin exhibition. And the longest shark tunnel in Europe. Among the creatures in the park are chimpanzees, gorillas, tigers, jaguars, alligators, flamingos, piranhas and whole lot of other exotic creatures.
Ticket Prices to enter Loro Park are €32 for adults and children below 11 years €21.
