How to get to Anse Georgette beach

The Anse Georgette beach is located at the Constance Lemuria Resort property so they limit the number of guests who can go there every day. As all the beaches in the Seychelles are public, you can go to this beach as well. Just need to go through the hotel security gate and register in person (or you can call them from your accommodation before you go). You need to park your car before the hotel gate, or get off the bus there, or walk to the gate as I did.

Then from the hotel gate it’s approx. a 20 -25 minute walk up and down the hills through the hotel golf course to the Anse Georgette beach. Shaded paths lead through the resort gardens down to the beach. The beach is lovely, indeed. It’s similar to Anse Lazio beach but a lot shorter and with less people.

There’s no shops at the beach but some local guys sell overpriced coconuts, fruit and drinks there. So if you need some food, bring it with you to the beach.

In 2024 Anse Georgette was ranked among the top 10 best beaches in the world.

Another way to get to Anse Georgette is from Anse Lazio.

Yes, it’s possible to hike between the beaches Anse Lazio and Anse Georgette. I did not do it because every time when I was on Anse Lazio it ended up raining making the hike not safe. And that day when I visited Anse Georgette through Constance Lemuria I did not have any more bottle water left, and it was getting too hot in the afternoon so I opted for no hike to Anse Lazio.

However, a few people who did hike told me it’s not very easy, sometimes you might even get a bit lost. And you need to bring loads of water with you and ideally not go on a very hot sunny day, or when it’s supposed to rain, either.

Important information about Anse Georgette beach

Anse Georgette is supposed to be one of the most beautiful beaches on Praslin.
it’s definitely one of top 4 famous beaches in the entire Seychelles.
Anse Georgette is several times shorter than Anse Lazio but just as special.
It looks similar to Anse Lazio beach but the vibe is more intimate and less crowded.
The sand is soft.
The bright turquoise water is usually quite clear, and the natural setting against granite rocks feels untouched.
Access is through the Constance Lemuria Resort, but non-guests can enter by registering in advance or in person directly at the hotel gate.
As it’s not so easy to get to the beach, usually it’s not overcrowded.
Open ocean views with almost no buildings and no boats in sight are a beautiful bonus.

Tips for visiting beach Anse Georgette Praslin

Bring water and snacks — there are no shops or cafés nearby.
Visit early or late in the day for fewer people and less sunshine.
Take photos, but also spend time just resting and swimming if the sea is calmer.
Be mindful of the currents. They might be stronger than you think. Unfortunately, several people drowned there over the years.

What I did enjoy at beach Anse Georgette Praslin

For me, these were the pros of Anse Georgette:

Free entrance to the beach.

No sand flies on the beach – I could finally spend some time laying on the beach and reading a book without getting hundreds of itchy sand fly bites. Apparently, Anse Georgette is one of the very few, if not the only beach on Praslin without sand flies.

There’s some shade on the beach under palm trees and rocks until mid-day. In the afternoon the sun is shining directly to the beach so not much shade left.

Not sure if I was just lucky, but there were no boats in front of the beach when I visited.

What I did not enjoy at beach Anse Georgette Praslin

For me, these were the cons of Anse Georgette:

Getting to the beach is a real workout and on a hot day it was NOT very enjoyable. And I walked from Grand Anse beach for over an hour to the Constance Lemuria gate first. Not only from the hotel gate to the beach and back but a lot more walking was quite tiring.

It’s an open ocean without coral reefs and islands right in front of the beach – and that means there’s usually big waves. Of course it all depends on tides, wind and weather in general, but even when some other beaches on Praslin do not have any waves, Anse Georgette might have big waves on the same day.

Due to the waves and currents, I did go for a swim while there but only 3 times during several hours which to me is very little.

You need to be really careful when entering the sea and be mindful of the waves and strong current.

Some locals on beach Anse Georgette were quite loud when walking around and selling things to tourists. I did mind it when they were shouting around and when they came to me several times within a few minutes. I had to ask them to please stop bothering me because I wanted to enjoy my peace and quiet. I understand that they want to earn some money, but bothering people over and over and even shouting like crazy when doing so? Not cool at all. It costs us a lot of money and time to travel to the other half of the world looking for a relaxing beach holidays and what some locals do is the opposite, unfortunately.

Would I recommend visiting Anse Georgette?

Definitely YES.

But remember, you will need to walk up and down the hills to get there. Bring water and healthy snacks. And you might not be able to go for a swim if the waves are too big.
