I agree, Josh, one of the reasons I prefer to travel on my own, not to waste my time or listen to others complaining :D

I can understand where you are coming from. I’m pretty laid back, but often I get really pissed off with with the people in the group who always complain, and then I get pissed off when someone is wasting my time – like when I spent hours and hours wandering around Moscow aimlessly with my friends. I keep it bottled but there sometimes comes a point where you have to say very pointedly “You are wasting my time” – that’s my personality, but in such a situation it’s a fair point; I stopped getting enjoyment and there is nothing relaxing about pointlessly walking 15km on a hot afternoon or at 1am in the morning when you are jet-lagged and sick. It’s about finding the balance for sure. Nevertheless, when you put other people’s needs in front of your own and stop worrying about minute details, and just enjoy yourself, you do feel A LOT better.

Hm very interesting thought and I have to say, I agree. I was a bit limited when I was a kid but that made me more of a rebel :D

I always think it’s weird when parents are so careful with their kids that they don’t let them play how they want. There are even psychology studies saying that kids who are left on their own to play will be psychologically better off later in life. I say if they can’t figure out how to play on their own, how are they going to do anything on their own?

That’s what I noticed when i stayed in the UK for three months. Most were complaining and they easily get discouraged to do something. I can see a little resemblance with Mexicans and Filipinos as both have a positive and laidback lifestyle… although too much laidback is not good hahaha :P Both love to eat, enjoy and yeah, boxing! Pacquiao and Morales ftw!

You are so right! Europeans only complain, all the time! It’s horrible but I think its part of our poor culture!

We are so stupid to be like this! I was not complaining at all for 90 days in Mexico, but as soon as I came back to Europe, I started again … and just can’t stop … bad influence everyone around :/

I agree! And I, like you, am European. Swedes and Brits (my family lives in the UK) live these sanitized lives and yet all we do is complain and grumble. I do like the positive style in Mexico and much of Latin America. They seem always to have time to live life… Someday I might live there…
