The first Twitter Experience Hotel in the world – Sol Wave House on Majorca
I just saw a pretty interesting video about a cool thing I have never seen anywhere else in the world until now. A friend of mine is going to Majorca so I was checking out some information about Majorca and run into the video about the Sol Wave House hotel on Magaluf beach.
Sol Wave House is one of the Melia hotels and its 4 stars are enough to know it would be my kind of place. And not just that. On the first sight it looks like any other hotel by the sea with an amazing infiniti swimming pool and all the luxury you need.
However, once I checked it better, I found out that it is not only a party resort for young people aged 18 – 30, but the hotel offers a different experience too. I am not a party animal any more, at least not comparing to my earlier years before I had quit alcohol in 2009, but I still do love parties from time to time. It’s one of the best ways of getting to know other people, having fun on the road and switching your mind off.
People behind Sol Wave House realized how much us, the young people, are addicted to social media networks and used it in their, and also our, advantage. The hotel offers ”Social Wifi Zone” and thus became the first Twitter Experience Hotel in the world where you can log into free wifi using your Twitter ID and get to know other guests, exchange photos with them or even flirt if that’s what you are looking for and you are not there with a partner.
Using your Twitter ID is like using a sort of a dating app. And even in you didn’t really want to ”date” while on holidays (I mean who would not like a little romance ;)) you can still use the Twitter app to meet new interesting people and attend the Friday #PartySuite or #SocialWave with DJs together. I think it’s an easy way to even find someone to hang out with in a jacuzzi or sunbathing on one of the 14 Balinese beds on hot summer days.
Up for more adventure than just lying down under the sun? Then Sol Wave House has something special for you too – a unique wave machine to try Flowboarding in the wave pool. Sounds fun, right?
Personally, I don’t have any problems to meet new people and to flirt at all (I’m still picky). Traveling changed me so much I went from being a complete introvert to more of an extrovert. If I really like someone, I show it. I even wrote ultimate guide to flirting on the road and widely speak about my romantic stories here on my blog (e.g. about my romantic travel love story), even those with a sad ending like my last bad experience in Napa.
However, I am sure the #SocialWave experience might be useful for so many young travelers out there who are or more shy or just want to meet new people faster, easier and most of all meet the people who they will like for sure as you can check many things online first.
Sometimes it is way easier to break the ice online and then meet in person, isn’t it? On the other hand, it is also less complicated to refuse someone online than in person in case you didn’t want to meet a certain person for whatever reason. And we are all so used to chat online nowadays that I find this Twitter Experience really helpful for many reasons.
Speaking of my point of view as a woman… would I find it weird to have guys checking me out online and flirting with me? I have to say no. If you check out my blog or even my Crazy Sexy Fun Traveler Facebook Fanpage you will see I am so used to guys sending me messages sometimes just based on my appearance without even reading through my articles or getting more information about me as a person that I would not get offended. We always judge people first based on their appearance and then on their character and other qualities, right?

Twitter is like a little world for many people who love to travel around the world. A hotel specializes on Twitter users – it is a good idea that will grow up fast. I have heard about similar ideas in Latin America.
