What a great insightful post – I’m a vegan so I really appreciate all the info on catering for vegetarians. So if you had a hard time as a vegetarian, I would probably starve as a vegan…. I’m thinking of attending the TBEX in Athens this year, but I’m a bit worried about the food issue now…

Just like you, my mother tongue is not English and I notice that if I’m too tired I have a hard time articulating a conversation, hahaha

Well, I am a vegan now too Yara which makes it even harder, especially because there’s mostly cheese everywhere :D True, thinking in other language all day long is NOT an easy task ;)

Very interesting post. It’s great to see the point of view of the participants.
Of course it’s good for a destination, and as well orgaisers to have a look at it, in order to improve.
there are many things, as well as points of view, to take into account.

Although some things to improve, you still like Costa Brava and Girona, an we really hope to see you back.

Thaks for the suggestions, we will improve from them!!!! :-)

Good to see another blogger agrees about the pros and cons of TBEX Girona. I am not going to Dublin but hope you enjoy it more than Girona ;)

I didn’t attend TBU but I was in girona and I agree with pretty much everything you said. I am not a veg and even I was sick of ham at the end. The last night was a disaster and the classes really needed some better description as I attended a couple that were just inappropriate for me. I was also kind of turned off by how much focus so many people put on getting free stuff. That said, I am going to Dublin this year mostly because I want to see more of the area and the TBEX trips will help with that. :-)

I am so glad I found your post. I was having a dilemma between the two and really didn’t know which one to attend. The TBEX looks very professional and would tie in with my trip to Central America, which I could before, but I didn’t know whether I should leave my trip early and come back to Europe for the TBU. Now, thanks to your informative post – I have made up my mind. See you in Canada in june! :-)

Thank you for this! I just registered for the TBEX Toronto in June, my first big conference ever as well, so I sure hope it will be better than what you described. And hope to meet you there; I heard and read so much of your stories through my friend Cezar from Imperator Travel.

Thanks for the review of both conferences. I have not been to a Travel Blogger Conference yet but I do plan on going to TBEX in Toronto. I met Mary Jo, who runs the TBEX conferences, when she was in my city yesterday and decided it would be beneficial to attend a conference.
